Help on Purchasing Fully loaded Tacoma w/SuperCharger!

I've heard the supercharger is great.They are supposed to last until around 120000 miles.I was going to buy one but decided to buy the truck without it first.The supercharger is put on not at the factory but over here either at the port of entry or the dealership. This was my understanding. I would find out if it comes with its own extended warranty. Warranties are sometimes tricky and you have to read the fine print. But like I said I never buy warranties on anything I buy They are a very profitable business.All the money I've saved over the years now it's easy for me to say no especially when the salesman puts the pressure on because I know I'm ahead of the game.

Eagle1, please read the performance subheader, there is a lot of talk about the SC. I just got one 2 weeks ago. It's installed at the dealer. You pick the dealer with the best price and knowledge.

This is interesting. I've always been leery of the extended warranty because I've heard horror stories about friends having to fight with the stealerships to have warranty work done. But maybe that's dependent on the dealership, I dunno.

8 years 120k for only 2k isn't that bad and I'll have the blower in already so it might be a good safety net just in case?...

this is the biggest pitfall from a sales point of view-
no one pays the same price as someone else and then you feel like you got fucked. if you like it and can afford it ,your a adult,go for it!

 

Just don't buy a Solstice.

 

Why not buy a solstice GXP or add a supercharger to a stock one?

Either way if you feel you need that extra power, go for it. Warranties...meh. Read the fine print, they will find away of not covering something. probably best to pocket the money you would have saved for a rainy day.

 

That seems very high for the SS.
I had a dealer here that offered a lifetime powertrain warranty with the purchase.

 

There are shops out there that will drop a V8 in a solstice

I seem to remember Hot Rod magazine had a story a few years ago where an LS7 went in a Solstice. You might have to dip into that retirement money to fund it.

 

Yeah, that was infamous and almost a fail. Process has been perfected. It starts at $20000 goes up to $50000+ and you supply the car Have fun

 

That's the only way a Solstice gets cool. Do it.

 

Toyota also does price match so you could find a place that is selling the trd supercharger for a killer price and Toyota will try to match that price as best they can. they did this for me when i bought mine through Toyota here in medford Oregon. i agree 7k is way to much for that trd supercharger, shit for that much you should go for the urd supercharger and get a shit load more horsepower out of the urd set up.
