Help/opinions!? Please Open diff vs LSD

Hey guys I have a 2006 4 dr shrt box v6 6spd sr5 4x4 without the LSD in the back and just has open diff I believe, I've just come across a 2007 trd Tacoma with a long box only difference from mine and was wondering if I can just swap out the diff and not the whole axle assembly? Also is the trd LSD okay product does it semi lock up both wheels at points cause rite now if I ever hit ice or wet roads I am a one wheel wonder out there when I hit the gas! I am getting it used and installed for 300-350 $ it has 60000km on LSD , I know arb lockers are better and more money but my truck is mostly drivn on road but I do occasionally like to have some fun with it so some one please fill me in on some info , thx

 

No mine is just the sr5 not trd and when I hit the gas in rain only one wheel spins out if I get the LSD diff will both wheels spin?
