want to order new wheels for my ‘15 Tacoma. I think the factory wheels are 16 x 7. I’m not sure of the size I’m gonna buy yet (16 or 17). But I know I want to go to a 8” wide. My question is how do I order them so that the extra 1” is on the outside (front) of the wheel?

    TIA

Offset or ET, you will need to compare wheel offset with stock off set

find the factory backspacing, order new wheel with 1" wider with appropriate backspacing so that the extra width is on the outside of the hub.

ET 30 on stock 2nd gen, so if you match that, the extra will go out

8 wide 0 offset is always a good choice. But knowing exactly what you have would help.

OEM wheels 16x7 usually have a backspacing of 5.2". Go with an 8" wide wheel with a backspacing of 4.25"- 4.5" and you are good.

This is a valuable tool. Great visual reference and you can change the values to see how it affects fit.

    - ICON UCAs, BP51/Kings, SCS wheels, 285s, Leer 100XR canopy. Greenlane aluminum winch bumper, Smittybilt X20 winch. Trying Falken AT3w now, Really like BF KO2s.
Check out SCS wheels, I have 17 x 8 Ray 10s with -10 offset and the tire sits outside the wheel well even if it’s a 265.
They post the wheel specs on their website.
