HELP! P0705 CODE on my 2011 Tacoma. Reverse light stays on while in any other gear.

Hello TW, I am hoping I can get some good advice with what to do. I was out offroading yesterday going through some whoops when out of no where my reverse light (R) came on and my back up camera engaged as well all while being in drive (D)doing around 40mph. Put the truck in park, turned it off and restarted it. Same thing. Truck shifts just fine and drives great but it shows the Reverse Symbol (R) on my gear display while I'm in any other gear and my back up camera will stay on for around 10 miles or so then turn off but it still shows I am in Reverse (R) and Drive (D)on my gear display. I heard it is my Transmission Range Sensor Circuit but heard different symptoms and outcomes of each story so would appreciate some feedback. ALSO: CEL (check engine light) is ON.

 

P0705 Transmission Range Sensor Circuit Malfunction (PRNDL Input)

DTC Detection Conditions:

Either of the following conditions is met:

(a) Any 2 or more of the following signals are ON simultaneously. (2-trip detection logic)
• Park/neutral position switch input signal is ON
• R input signal is ON
• D input signal is ON
• 2 input signal is ON

(b) Any 2 or more of the following signals are ON simultaneously. (2-trip detection logic)
• Park/neutral position switch input signal is ON
• R input signal is ON
• 3 input signal is ON
• L input signal is ON

Trouble Areas:

• Open or short in park/neutral position switch circuit
• Park/neutral position switch
• ECM
