    i have 2000, 4×2, 5 speed, 2rz taco

Vehicle was picked up and taken to a tow-yard - after i paid to get it out, it needed a jump - owner helped me out with his jumper-unit - polarity was reversed - lost power to everything - went through fuses - replaced 120amp alt fuse - got power back - truck cranks, no start - no spark from plugs, tested -

The truck is now parked outside the tow yard and i need to get it running from that spot.

I am homeless and live out of my taco currently - funds are beyond tight, every dollar i spend here will be missed.

I have basic knowledge of most concepts i expect to face - i have a decent set of hand tools - i have a friend locally letting me use another vehicle to get stuff done (sedan, no towing) - truck was towed 40 miles away from where i have to hang out till this is handled

Please, someone, guide me through this and maybe give me best case to worst case scenarios. I dont want to ditch my truck, but given my life situations i may have to. Absolute last resort.

No ideas off the top of my head, perhaps an igniter issue (I'm not sure of the best way to test it). Someone help this guy, lets band together TW!

I am going to rent a multimeter and a code scanner. Im not sure there are any codes since the truck hasnt run since problem. As stated, im 40 miles away, so if some one does hop on here to help, and knows of anything else ill need to gather before heading that way, the sooner i know the better - thank you in advance!

More fuses may have been blown, check them all. I feel like you're going to be looking for a 15amp fuse to your ignition, but all need to be checked.

Hmm, turns over, no spark. Checked ECU voltage?

When y get there, use the voltmeter to see if there's power getting to the coils at the plugs.
If not then check the resistance on the coils, then check the ecu voltage.
If there's power to the coil but no spark then u found the problem

How likely do you think it is that the problem would be in the coils/plugs?

Damage happened with the truck off

Unlikely... I would think the issue would be something mundane like a blown fuse or fusible link, or something integral fried from reverse polarity.

I'd say so but it can't hurt to check since it's right up top.

Also go over the main fuses with the meter as they can look fine but be bad as I have found in my taco

Ive gone through all fuses in cab and on the fuse block under hood, swapped all ignition relays with known good relays - yet to test electrical signals to the relays though

Don't ditch the truck, and it dosent have a distributor dose it?! Coils ?! How did you check for no spark was it at night so you got a good look at it ? Might be fuel pump related?! I could be horribly wrong though, I would imagine that you possibly blew a ground.. maybe!?!

Don't ditch the truck man, that's the type of truck someone will buy in a heart beat but there Gona try to steal it from you for like $500 it's worth thousands in the right areas, just breath and go through it slow and steady that's a sick spot to live!!

Worst thing you can do is panic and get rid of the truck, just breath and be calm with it !
