I posted this a while back in another section of the site but did not get any responses. I have a 1997.5 Tacoma with the 2.4 in it. Owned since new and never an issue. Recently I replaced the head gasket and after it ran great for 1 year. A few months ago it started running bad and the CEL came on. Code is PO325, Knock Sensor. I have replaced the sensor twice, new plugs, wires, checked all the connections I can find, tried resetting the ECU. Every time I reset the ECU it will run perfect for a few minutes then throw the PO325 code again and lose power. I don’t think I’ve ever been as frustrated with something. Hopefully someone can help me or give me an idea about what to check next. Took to my local Toyota dealership but they said they could not diagnose on their computer because the truck was to old. I need this truck running and don’t know what to do next. Thanks for any help y’all can give. TW

I guess I’m the only one that’s ever had this issue. 2 post with no replies. I’m desperate at this point.

I’d it throws the code almost immediately, it’s either the wrong knock sensor, the wiring to and from the knock sensor, or the ECU.

Replace the wire, and make sure you don’t pinch it when putting it back together.

Thanks guys. How far into the harness does the blue shielded wire run. Do I need to pull it all the way back or is there a plug on the other end. For what it’s worth I tried a cheap Amazon replacement sensor then changed it out with a Denso sensor. Thanks again

Another question. If I test the wire with my meter, nothing. The shielded mesh wire seems to be grounded good because I’m getting some ohms on it.
