I originally posted this in "wheels and tires" but maybe you guys can help me.
I got a flat during hurricane sandy and have been using the spare for about 2 weeks now. I brought the rim and tire to be replaced this morning, and it will be ready tomorrow. Problem is, the low pressure light came on this evening on my way home. The tires seem ok, but im worried im gonna wake up with another flat and no spare. Its a 2012 double cab.

Can the fact that i've been using the spare be causing this? Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried resetting the TPMS system as described in the manual ?

You might have one tire low. If you have a tire gauge, check them all now.

Check the tire for a nail or a screw as well. If the light just came on there could be a reason, slow leak etc.
Thats why i carry a plug kit in my taco.

I seriously thought I lost my mind when I clicked in here and read the first post. I responded to both of your threads, the first time in the other one and when I opened this one I was like....WTF!!? I thought I already posted a response.

If you left the wheel and tire at the shop, the TPS will notice the missing one, and trip the lighht.

The 12 only comes with 4 TPMS sensors. There is not one in the spare. So the light is going to come on with only 3 tires around.

Wait...would the sensor be read if it was in the bed of my truck by radio or something? It was full of air after it was patched, but i didn't want to put it on the truck because they patched the sidewall and i didn't trust it...it was full of air until removed today....

i believe the spare now has a tpms sensor. the light is probably on bc the spare is missing at the moment... don't quote me though.
