A while back I ordered the TSB 1.5 AAL from Toytec and had them installed on my 2011 TRD Off Road when the Dealer was installing the TSB rear leaf packs. I have noticed their is a pronounced hop when going over speed bumps at even the SLOWEST of speeds. I was recently checked the box from Toytec and saw on the box part number:TAC-AL-HA and NOT TAC-AL-TSB which leads me to believe toytec shipped the wrong one and I have a NON TSB AAL on TSB leafs. Does anyone know what the repercussions of this may be? Will it cause any damage or problems. I have no problems with the truck and the only thing that is different is the rear hop over slow speed bumps.

    Thanks for your advice.
I hope I'm worrying for no reason.

The non tsb AAL just provides a little more lift vs. the TSB AAL. What do you have on the rear for shocks?

Thanks for the quick response, The rear shocks are still the stock TRD Bilsteins.

Better shocks may help with the speed bump hop, a shock that is a little longer might be good if your rear end is sitting really high.

I would contact toytec, tell them you were shipped the wrong item and the issues you are noticing, they will probably recomend a good shock and maybe even give you a good deal because of the mix up.

I have noticed I got more of a rear lift from the TSB and AAL than I was expecting.... You have helped clear up this mystery. Thank you.

I'll contact Toytec and see if they can help...Its definitely worth a try, after all the worst thing that can happen is I get good free advice, and they say NO to a better price.

    Thanks again for your input.

 also consider that the TSB will feel stiffer than stock, and a AAL will add to the stiffness, they may just need to be broken in depending how long you have had them. Still new shocks will probably be worth it. Adding some weight to the bed temporally may help

The non TSB AAL doesn't fit in the TSB pack so if its not running into any of the spring clamps, its probably the correct TSB AAL. Happen to remember the part number on the label for the AAL?

Thats the first time i have heard that. Plenty of guys use the TSB AAL on their non TSB springs. I believe the non-TSB AAL is longer, so the retainers are not in the same location on TSB springs compared to regular springs?

That what i mean. The TSB aal wil fit the TSB and regular packs but the NON TSB aal will not fit the TSB pack.

The retainer clamps are closer together on the TSB pack.

Did not know that. I figured they were universal both ways.

so from this I gather that even though the box may have had the NON TSB AAL part number on it, I must have been sent the TSB AAL because the non TSB AAL will not fit on a TSB rear leaf spring Tacoma?

Most likely. Do you remember or can you see the part number on the leaf? Should be on a label on the top of the AAL

Get the 1.5 TSB AAL. That should level it with 2.5 up front.

Is there a 3 leaf progressive 1.5" aal specifically for the tsb leaf pack? I see toytec only offers a one leaf aal. Am I correctly assuming that the one leaf would be stiffer and the 3 leaf progressive pack would give a softer, smoother ride? The wheelers progressive 3 leaf 1.5" aal gives no info on tsb or non tsb application.
