Maybe different where I live, but most body shops around here have some sort of immediate drive through where they take pictures and notes, and start quoting it up in a hurry. I've never had to wait too long.

if you have stock parts i would make room in my schedule and get your tools ready to swap them out and not ask for permission while you still own your truck and carry your dumbass brother out there with you.

yeah I have all stock parts here with me. However my truck is already at the body shop and insurance has already been talked to. Doubt the body shop will let me work on it there so I may have to see if I can pay for them swap parts out for me before pics get sent out to insurance on their end.

FYI for any future incidents: Its good practice to avoid reporting non-injury on the same day of the accident. More importantly, never assume that you are unhurt after any accident. Moderate (and a few severe) injuries will manifest after several hours when the adrenaline dump wears off, while light to moderate muscle-skeletal injuries (like whiplash) will take as long as a week before you start to notice pain. Usually you feel it by the end of the second day, but some issues take a while to manifest. Its also a good idea when the adjuster asks "was anyone hurt?" to give an honest "I don't feel immediate injury, but I don't know for sure." Most companies know this and won't try to screw you if you say you're fine and then discover later that you aren't fine, but still, it makes things easier all around to keep that question open for as long as possible.

If you aren't sore today, I'm really glad for you. Still, stick to light duty and take things easy for the next couple of days, to make absolutely sure there isnt some deep muscle tissue that is in need of attention.

I ran down to to the body shop and here are some more pictures. The bed is hitting the cab but not sure if it’s done damage. The black piece where it touches is rubber. I talked to them and they said the whole frame needs to be replaced and they are just trying to get it approved by the insurance. My truck only has 9,500 miles and it’s within the range where all parts have to be factory parts with no exceptions. So that’s a plus I guess. They’ll be calling back later today on what the insurance says.

Mine had very similar damage after being rear ended by an idiot co-worker.

After his insurance accepted full liability....I took it back to the dealer where I bought it, and their collision center have them the estimate and they said it was fixable. They placed a requisition for a new frame...and after about 2 months, they had it back together like brand new. Mine already had 50k in miles on it too.
