    Hey Guys,

I installed heating pads when I switched my factory cloth seats to leather from Leatherseats.com. Fantastic product so far. Anyways I'm just getting around to wiring these bitches up. I have forked over most of the guides on this site/YouTube but I can't seem to find a video on my hardware/tacoma trim (electrical noob). Last time I had an issue I got great feedback from everyone here so I'm trying again.

Here is my set up currently, sorry for the mess. Currently my seat will heat, while not very powerful, and the light/heat pad stays on when the truck is off. Bad. I have 3 wires. And a few questions :

Black is ground (easy) and is grounded on the frame behind the steering wheel. Is there a better place nearby? Is that part of my power issue?

Red wire has an inline fuse (Still in) and is tapped into the 10 Amp IG 1 No. 2. I feel pretty confident about this one. However in the 4th pic you can see the manufacturer intended these to be spliced.

The third orange wire is the pesky one, I initially thought this was for the light, after splicing a green wire off a dash switch I got no power to the switch or the seat. After doing more research I found this was probably a low voltage wire (I am not sure about this) and I tapped it into this 7.5 Amp fuse for the USB. This got my seat working and got me here. However like I said when I turn the engine off, my heated seats continue to run, draining my battery.

There is a relay that the seat heaters connect to, that then splits into these wires and the switch. Sooooo I shouldn't need additional hardware? Its a head scratcher for me, but I know this set up doesn't work.

I have seen people splicing wires here in the center console, can someone point out which ones. Also, can I splice these 2 seat heaters together to be more efficient? how will that effect the rest of this build?
Someone smarter than me fix this, please. I'm packing up the bong and will reassess in the morning.

Last pic: I have seen people splice the power wires into pre-existing powered switches. I don't think any of these will work. I don't want to have any of them on while driving in the daytime. Am I wrong here? The LED Lightbar is just an empty switch that is another half completed project.

I “think” you’re tapped into an always on fuse.. maybe. I tapped mine into the s/htr when I ran mine. The dash light wire I ran into the tail, I think. I’ll have to double check. If you can see if the IGN2 is an always on fuse.

I will attempt this now, thanks Jaxterra. Also trying to figure out what the deal is with this third wire....

Thanks Eric! Did you wire a passenger seat as well?

You're welcome, yea I wired both drivers and passengers. I may have put one on the s/htr and one on the sunroof… I’ll go look at my fuse panel once I get a chance.
I think I tied the two lights to the panel or tail light.
I feel like I have more add a fuses than that though but can think what else is there…

Update: So I tapped into the 20A washer fuse and the 15A USB Fuse.

Currently my driver seat is working as intended. Powers off with the vehicle, switch light and heater on. My passenger seat is still a dead switch.

I have spliced both sets of the powered wires together in the add-a-fuse.

My grounded wires are on two separate screws behind the driver wheel installed on the frame.

Is anything popping out at you guys as to what could be wrong? Am I using the correct hardware for splicing?
