My first post - new to the forum. I just purchased a 2014 Tacoma double cab long bed. I also purchased a bug shield for it from the dealer. I picked it up yesterday and opened the box. There are no instructions on how to install on truck but there is a small sticker on box that says the instructions are on toyotas computer sight and have the parts department print them out. I guess I need to do that unless someone here can post them for me.

The other issue I have is it looks like there are brackets that mount under the hood and extend the bug shield out away from the hood? If so does anybody have this setup and like it? Or should I return it and buy another brand that fits under thei hood.

I only drive 1 1/2 miles to and from work each day and use it occasionally for long trips. Do I even need a bug shield?

    ANY RESPONSES WOULD BE APPRECIATED

I had the same one installed on my '06 prerunner-- The dealer installed it. Most folks will say "stay away from the oem Toyota bug shield because of those brackets possibly damaging the hood, but after 9 years, I was pretty happy with it. The tech that installed it put 3M tape between the brackets and the hood to prevent damage to the paint and it worked perfectly.
