help, rough idle/stalling after stop

My '96 has the 2.7L engine, starts fine but frequently after driving down the road at cruising speed (say 55-65), and then stopping at a light or stop sign, it idles rough and will stall out if I do not give it some gas. So far it has always started right back up after stalling out and sometimes the idle with smooth itself out if at the stop for a few minutes... this problem is intermittent but becoming the norm. Normal idle prior to driving is fine. Any ideas what the issue may be?? Hope someone can help me here! Thanks

 

Something I might try would be to do a throttle body cleaning. If there's a lot of gunk clogging up the idle space in your throttle body, it could cause the truck to not perform properly. There's tons of videos and tutorials on how to do this

yep, the truck needs air to pass under the closed flap in throttle body to idle ok when you let off the throttle, if its blocked with junk it acts like you describe
