Copied from the Land Use section on Pirate...

Have you ever wanted to beat your rig on the rocks of Arizona? Do you enjoy watching the crazy AZ Rockcrawling Videos? Do you have aspirations of visiting and wheeling the desert SW? Even some of the basic washes are proposed to be closed.

The toughest, free, area of waterfall-filled, wheeling in the US is being closed. The BLM currently supports option ‘C’ of the Black Canyon Corridor TMP (travel management plan). Option ‘C’ closes almost all of our trails and it also closes the washes we use to access the 4 trails left open. Effectively, option ’C’ closes all of the trails. We’ve been working with the BLM, for the last four years, in an effort to save them. Option ‘E’ of the TMP, is pro-OHV. It saves the routes we worked on adding to the route inventory. The maps were just made public, with the meetings happening 5/2 and 5/3. We have until 5/22/18, to make our comments known. The plan and maps can be found here, if you want to research this, yourself.

Please help us, by sending in a copy of this comment form. These are YOUR public lands and we need you to help save them. All you need to do is to open the form, complete the part in grey, (on the first page) and send it in. The address to mail or to email it in, is located on the first page, as well. I’ve taken care of the tough part and completed the comments, per BLM requirements.

We’ve got a grass roots effort, going in AZ, but need as much help as we can get. Collected some money, stuffed, and stamped over 400 envelopes.

Most have been completed and returned.

Reach out if you want to kick in for supplies. Really, though, we just need folks to send in a form and share the google drive link with their OHV friends. Bumble Bee, AZ is truly a gem, for the extreme crawler crowd. Do what you can to help keep it open. Then, plan a trip out to play on it.

I don't understand why this thread doesn't have any activity. Doesn't matter what state you live in, losing trail access is a slippery slope that will affect us all. Just printed the form and will send it out today.

That's great, for sure, but it needs support from outside AZ as well.

This was posted on Pirate after we started our efforts yesterday.

Bad news regarding the pre-formatted comment forms. I received this email from the BLM today. We are receiving several comments from people I believe are all rock crawlers that have copied the same comments and just signed their name to them.

I need to make sure that you and they understand that this is not helpful since this is not a vote.

Comments will be looked at to determine their substantive value. If the comments are exactly the same they are treated as copies of one comment. Not as individual comments.
We certainly appreciate the fact that the comments are important to all of you however en mass mailings of copies do not have any more effect than one with every one's name on them.

This means that you can use our comments to base your own, off of, but sending in this form, as-is, won’t count. I’m working on it, but have no better solution, at the moment.

Haven't mailed mine yet, as I'm at work. If you'll post that go-by, I'll hold off until tomorrow.
