So purchased my 3rd gen in Mesa, AZ with a dealer installed Pursuit(learned afterword) security system. About 3 weeks ago the driver side window stopped working and would not go down @~18K miles. This is right after I have relocated to the Chicago area for a new job. Take it into river oaks Toyota and they said the switch in the door panel was bad. They had to order the switch and have me come back a 2 business days later to install. They install the switch and it doesn't fix the problem and then they want me to drop the vehicle off to further investigate with out the possibility of getting a loaner. Luckily an availability in my schedule opened up as I am now working like 60hrs a week. I drop it off and later in the day they say they have fixed the window issue but had to disconnect the security system as that was causing the problem. I told them I wanted the security system and the window working. They said the security system was aftermarket and not covered by warranty. I said it was too covered by warrant. I asked them to call the dealership in AZ (Earnhardt- great by the way) and they refused to contact them or even take a call from them after I contacted them and asked them to give a call to the river oaks location. Service Manager (Sylvester) refuses to take any further action. I have put in a call to Toyota corporate and have a case number already which I told them about and are still refusing to even lift a finger to correct both issues. Speaking with the rep at Earnhardt, from the tech who does the security systems, there is no way the security system is tied in with the windows which the people at the river oaks location was causing the problem. Refused to accept the truck as the issue has not been fixed and didnt want it later down the line "void the warranty" as I accepted it as is. AS a result they are "charging" me a $35 a day holding fee. The whole interaction with dealership from day 1 has been a pain in the ass.

Does anyone have advice aside from calling Toyota corporate, I really want to tear river oaks a new one.

Dealer-installed add-ons will not be warranted by either Toyota or other dealerships. I agree that the alarm should not be causing problems with the window, but you're shit out of luck here. The sooner you pick the truck up, the less it will cost you.

Yeah go get the truck asap ... and run don't walk to another dealer. Tell them you've relocated and your are looking for a dealer to do your maintenance and tell them the story. Ask them straight up if they can "help" you out.... get them to do an oil change while yer there... good will gesture and all..
Do the kill with kindness deal. The first dealership are asshats... they get paid by Toyota if there's warranty work what does it matter if you have an aftermarket security or not... they fix Toyota pays....

So you go to the dealer that has your truck and tell then pound sand have a nice life... Tell them you're going to suggest to all your Bros with Tacos and lifted to come and get service from you all.... Yeah wow. You modded your truck so it's not covered.... really?

There's actually federal laws that prohibit this sort of thing.... Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act, drop that on em and watch em squirm a little... oh oh oh oh yeah we have to prove the security system broke your window.. the onus of proof is on the dealer not the owner.... fuck outta here. Toyota corporate should get that straightened out but tell them you lost confidence in this dealership and need recommendation for new dealer... ah and don't forget to ask to take the survey .... oh that's going to get some butt hurt going right there.

Unless they did a window control module, no way is the alarm interfering with window switch.(if the alarm system is properly wired)

Is it really that outrageous of me to expect a vehicle sold to me, as is, with a full warranty to not carry any reciprocity to any other dealership. Too much to ask Toyota corporate, or the other dealer to reach out to the other, to make sure all warranty issues get handled in the end, regardless who pays for them, and not put their customers out? well fuck me...
