I just replaced my old spacer lift kit with the 3" Alumina Boss setup from Toytec and JBA UCA. I also replaced the rear leafs with Dakars. I had a reputable shop do the work. The ride is great and so is the handling. I did not replace the rear bump stops. I just noticed some markings above the rear shock. I'm new to what could happen if they bottom out. Could these be from the rachet during install or could the bolt on top of the shock be hitting?

Also, should i replace the factory (i'm guessing) bump stop?

That mark is most likely from the ratchet or impact ratchet. I would suggest you replace them if you wheel fairly hard I wouldn’t want to top out those pretty shocks and possibly cause a leak.

Yeah, no way the shocks made those marks. It was the tool he used to install them.

Good deal! I’ll hit it with some spray bomb tomorrow. I noticed the paint on the OME brackets is already peeling so I’ll hit it at the same time.

The new Dakars have a terrible finish. That's the norm.

So I’m sitting high in the back but thought it would settle but hasn’t. I have a camper shell on the back and with medium Dakars I’m sitting 25” hub to fender. Got to looking and I think the shop left my old spacer kit on. What you guys think?

    Same crap everyone else got
The shaft and the nut both spin on the stock shock. So to remove you have to make sure the shaft is stationary so you can loosen the nut. I bet that mark is from whatever he used to clamp onto the shaft and as it spun it eventually wedged itself where that mark is and created resistance enough to loosen the nut. I'm willing to be that's a few tacoma's out that with similar marks. I will say yours is pretty big though.

No, those shocks are not contacting your frame. That part doesn't move.
Like Crosis said, hit it with some paint and call it good after they remove the spacer, if you do have the spacer removed.
