So today an older friend offered me an irresistible deal on a 2006 Mercedes E55 AMG V8 Compressor with with close to 725 hp and after selling the truck to pay for it i would have a decent amount of money left over... car has too many mods to list and the thing is immaculate, it has 90k miles on it, ams supercharger, boost, full racing exhaust, a massive intercooler and lots of other goodies. i don't have a pic of the car but i found a very similar one online

and heres the truck i love so much

Seriously though what the hell are you gonna do with a guzzling Benz? Other than it eating up gas to cruise around town. It's not like you're gonna be able to use all that power unless you take it to a track.

Honestly whatever fits your lifestyle. We can't 100% answer for you.
Excuse my rant but I'd rather enjoy the wilderness than be cruising around town. It's your call

i think i may borrow the m3 for a week or so, if the old man lets me, to see if i like the feel of driving a high powered beast around... my car before the truck was a honda crv so I'm used to the feel of SUV's / Trucks

First of all get it dyno'd, talk is cheap and that car can not put that much power to the ground usefully that why the newer AMG's are going to AWD. With 90k on it you can expect a rebuild sometime relatively soon compared to your truck. Fun u bet but not as useful as your truck. I have owned 6 AMGs since 2005 and they are exceptional autos but not as useful as your truck. If you can swing both you will be a real stud muffin. As for the track talk save yourself some embarrassment you will beat everybody down the front straight till you have to hit the binders to slow the tank down but be sure to wave at the Geek flying by in a Miata as you play catchup. If you can borrow a M3 do that and keep the truck.

You don't need advice.... you've made up your mind. Buy the car if you want it. Don't ask us for approval. Just remember with all those mods I would imagine it has been run hard and with 90k on the clock it is gonna be a bitch to fix when the time comes.

i feel like you'd always be able to find an e55 for considerably less money than your truck, you could sell your truck any day and buy an e55 like that, he better be offering it to you for a real bargain..... like 12-15K

Ill just go ahead and address this. 725hp? Come on I want dyno proof and you should too. Those cars are rated somewhere around 515 crank horse power from the factory. it would need to be heavily modified to be at 725.

Also AMS doesnt make a blower for these cars, just a pulley upgrade. So if the pulley was upgraded it might be making somewhere around 600hp. Im just honestly calling bullshit. Ive been building high horsepower hondas, and a few lexus's for the past almost 9 years. So i like to think i know a thing or two.

And maintenance, my pops drives an 08' e350 diesel and just had to replace the tranny and it was 7500 for a used tranny. Do yourself a favor man and keep the tacoma. This could be a terrible decision on your end. Also id like to say im not trying to shit on your thread just bringing a few things to light. I would need proof.

725hp isn't unheard of on euro cars. Hondas on a different level, no offense.
