What ever it is that got on there, the exhaust heat helped it bond on the paint.

Nobody has said anything about using your fingers. I have detailed cars for awhile and sometimes just using your fingers to rub that stuff off works best. If that doesn't work, take it to a good detail shop. Promise they will get if off.

I think it is a lot less common to find it with a decent amount of acetone in it now.. that's why i suggested it.

That's just ethyl acetate [IMG] with some pink dye. While it is an organic solvent it won't get you high and it definitely won't dissolve that stain.

    It smells kinda nice actually.

Rub on- wipe off- rinse. It says it's safe on clear coat and will not remove it or paint. Then I would clearbra or clear vinyl over the affected area after it's cleaned and dried.

If none of the solvents work try rubbing it gently with polishing compound. I had a bunch of spray on sunblock bonded to my Taco's paint and of the three things I tried (wax and clay bar didn't do jack) it was the only effective solution. I was super paranoid about ruining the paint so I started from the least aggressive method and moved up the ladder. If polishing compound didn't work rubbing compound would have been the next thing I tried. Good luck getting that crud off the truck.

First step is obviously to wash the truck.

You've clayed then obviously its something a little more pervasive than dirt.

If you have a DA polisher I would use an orange pad and a heavy polishing compound. Hit it with that after claying again and see what it can do.

If you don't have a polisher then maybe hit it by hand with a cutting compound and a microfiber applicator pad.

This should be able to buff off with patients and the right tools.

I would move this over to the detailing section. You will get answers from people who actually know how to properly care fir paint rather than a bunch of people who act like weekend detailers telling you to put chemicals on that will degrade your paint or tell you to scrape the hell out of it with your fingernails.

You don't want to do anything but attempt to buff it off if clay doesn't work. Anything else is likely just going to damage your paint. Plus buffing this off will take minimal effort and be cheap no sense wasting your time trying to make it come off chemically.
