Sounds like he is getting a Manual, that cuts his choices down to Sport, Off Road, or Pro.

MT is the bomb. But it limits you to short bed. I went with MT and just make do with short bed.

@shakerhood ....E19695_800.jpg scoop kazoo thread again?

OP @Loqu!to test drive them and be patient . I drove about 6 different tacomas and waited 3 months to get the truck and price I wanted. If you do end up finding a 17' you should be able to negotiate the crap out of it. Read the "what you paid" thread to help you save a ton of money.

I would get SR but I want a manual. It just feels weird not shifting gears manually. 99 percent of the time, I have my left hand on the steering wheel and my other hand just lays on the arm rest, wanting to shift the gears.

I just bought a sport. I'm going to throw on some Bilsteins and turn it into a stealth OR.

Okay, so that's a cool function that it can be used for....... You can always swap out the hood if you want of course.

Just buggin ya. OR have thier value, but sport owners value the look and even though its not as cool as crawl, it is important to thier owners who may never need crawl or a rear locker to haul stuff from home depot

They’re all good, depends on what you want included from the factory. I wanted the black wheel well fenders, heated seats, moonroof, and MT and maybe some other things—can’t remember. No CRAWL available on MT. A veteran Tacoma friend of mine tried to convince me to get an SR and add all the goodies afterward, but adding heated seats, moonroof, etc. would have never happened, or taken too long. It was a tough decision but the OR was the best fit for what I wanted. You really can’t go wrong either way though.

In all honesty i probably shouldve gotten the OR and swap hoods lol. Not sure if they came in longbed, moonroof though. Maybe toyota should give us more freedom to choose all the features instead of sticking us to categories and packages

Do you HAVE to buy RIGHT NOW? If not, why not build one from the factory? Get exactly what you want. Should only take 17 weeks or so. Had one of my Marines do it. Saved him a ton of money and he will tell you the agonizing wait was worth it. He still owns the damn thing and hasn’t once considered getting rid of it.

Hell, we wait longer for @mesojdm to place his mods for sale in his store.

I didnt build mine off the website, but had to wait a few months for them to find/build mine with all the options i wanted. That way at least i could still do a negotiation. Not sure if you can negotiate on the website

You have to talk to a fleet manager and get one custom built from the factory. Sales will try to talk you out of it and get you to buy what is in the inventory or what they can trade for. Stand firm. (I know because I sold cars for a brief stint after the military)
