Went better than expected! Not sure how bad I had damaged the threads but gently threading the tap in and out a few time corrected them and I was able to torque the bolt correctly. That tap is larger than the tap wrenches I could find nearby so I ended up using a small wrench but can't remember what size. Good luck

Ditto! Honestly, hardest part was finding an M14x1.5 tap. ACE stopped carrying the Irwin Hanson one. The guy at my local called 5 stores… they had all pulled it from the shelves. Said it wasn’t selling well enough when they did an inventory re-boot.

But, Harbor Freight had a full metric kit for $90 bucks. So I got carried away and tap and die’d all the hardware for my skid plates as well . Pretty big range of sizes too. Hopefully I save someone a wasted trip to ACE! Or at least warn them to give ACE a call first.
