Hello all im new to the site but i figure this is the best place to get some help with my Tacoma . Yesterday i noticed while under slow acceleration or just giving it enough gas to maintain a speed between 20 and 40 mph it will shake badly but as soon as I let off the gas or give it more gas it goes away . its not always the same kind of vibration ...sometimes a slow vibration when going around 20 mph compairable to driving on a washboard road and sometimes when going faster its a faster vibraton. ANY thoughts or information would be very helpfull !!! thanks

Ive messed with it , it has movement but you have to push and pull somewhat hard to move it ....Is that normal or is it not supposed to have slack at all ??

Yeah that was one of the first things i checked ...I also checked for worn wheel bearings , suspension componants the only thing i found is a small amount of slack in my passenger side tie rod ....other then that nothing out of the normal as far as i can tell ..My take on it is that its within the transmission , driveline , rear end or wheels it changes with speed and not with engine rpm's.....im stumped....

Could be slop in a u-joint. When you go from power to the wheels to engine braking, the force on the driveshaft would be reversed, and that could cause a clunk.

I'd try full throttle all the time, don't let the vibration have time to get a foothold ! This way the real problem will show itself much sooner, and you don't have to waste time looking for trouble, the trouble will find you!!! And, instead of wasting time looking for trouble , you'll be getting exercise walking.
