Yea so I tore apart my dash to do some stuff to it, figuring out how to get to the cluster and everything else..

I did take the cluster out and the cluster plastic covering off merely to do more polishing to the plastic (little scratches were driving me nuts).

I don't remember touching the tach or any other needles but it now sits literally at the 6 o'clock position with the engine OFF.

It still "works" and moves regularly as if it's offset by 3-4k rpm.

Advice? Should I set the needle at the center of the zero when it's off or do I risk royally and completely fucking up my tach?

You moved the needle by accident. It happens. Pull it off and reset to 0. Might take a few attempts to get it just right. And be very careful taking off and putting that needle on. You bend the pin it sits on and its game over.

Thanks, will try next weekend and will update the thread with results.

I'm sure other people have done it, they just haven't seen this thread yet.
