Does anyone have any recommendations for how to clean the leather-wrapped steering wheel?

I must have gotten some unknown substance on my hands before I drove, because every time I drive now my hands feel tacky/sticky from the steering wheel. Not just while driving, but for a long time after. It's pretty annoying and a stupid problem to describe to people because at first glance or feel, the steering wheel feels normal. But after several minutes of driving, your hands begin to feel tacky and they stay that way for some time.

I have tried Armor All cleaning wipes and mild Dawn and water mix, but it's still happening! I'm just concerned about damaging the leather with other products such as Goo-Gone or degreasers.

    Any ideas?

MOTHERS VLR (VINYL LEATHER RUBBER) CLEANER IN RED BOTTLE

Stuff even removes grease, I didn't think would come off leather surfaces

I used woolite detergent with a shoe brush. 10-1 woolite water mixture. Scrubbed lightly with it warm. Armor all wipes probably caused it or made it worse don't use that

I tried dawn and all kinds of stuff the woolite did it for me

Yea, the Armor All wipes were probably a bad idea and might have made it worse. At the time, it was the only thing available and I was desperate. Feel like I'm going a little crazy having slightly sticky hands every time I drive my 40k truck... Might give woolite a shot or the other name brand leather cleaners. How about conditioning the leather after cleaning? I'm hesitant to apply any more crap than necessary.

It was irritating me too and I did ALOT of reading on detail forums cause I didn't want to make it worse. I fucked up and put meguars trim stuff on it and that started the problem so I wanted to avoid using any more products if possible. Most detail forums suggested woolite and it actually did it for me. I did the whole steering wheel 2 or 3 time and no more sticky feeling. I tried regular water and then dawn previously and it didn't work. My opinion is do woolite and stay away from leather conditioner or any other product

Woolite... interesting... I had the same problem when the truck was newish... was that way probably for almost a year... now I don't notice it but I've been pretty careful to not drive with FOOD on my hands. Like say when we are traveling and stop for dinner.. go to mens room and wash hands after the duty calls thing. problem solved... not saying not washing after doody is your problem ... just sayin...

I've just been careful not to drive with dirty hands... keep 2 sets of gloves in truck at all times so if getting hands dirty... wear gloves to protect... no worries about getting that greasy feeling on the steering wheel.. thats kinda gross, isn't it??

Then there's the inevitable gross all around diner.. and bathroom is filthy... no touchy anything feel gross after touching door knob... don't touch anything else.. steering wheel is greasy... wip out the spare box of hand wipes... and problem solved.

For the record, the Armor All wipes were definitely not the cause. I've never used them on this truck, just the one time after the wheel was already problematic.

Yea, I'm nervous as hell. This has been going on for 3-4 days now with two rounds of soap/water and those damn cleaning wipes. The steering wheel design is a big improvement from previous years, but now I'm starting to curse all those holes, seams, and stitches! Need to get a better brush to get in there, I guess.

Yeah really really dig the steering wheel.. reminds me of Momo steering wheel I have in my V-dub... almost exactly the same design and leather too.
