I'm considering buying a 08 Tacoma v6 4x4 with 114000 miles. Should I or shouldn't I. I'm worried about the high mileage. Does anyone have any input ?

What is the price? Also 114000 is not much for our trucks if it was taken care of.

yeah I bought my first '02 with 95,000 and drove it for 3 years before trading it in for my '09 and I didnt have a single issue with it, just maintain it and she will treat you right.

Ditto. Price will answer that question.

I paid about $13,500 for my '08 RC 2wd base model with 53k on it.

You're looking at a V6 4x4, but more than double my mileage.

depends where it was driven...city driving is harder on the vehicle, country, flat roads, little stop and go is the best...
this makes a difference, but a toyota is a toyota...it should have alot of life in it @ 114k

the engine should just about be warn in at about 100,000 so it will run real well.

Depends on the trucks condition and the price. I bought my 05 with over 110000 on it but it had been well taken care of, and the dealer had just replaced or serviced a lot on the vehicle. I have 140+ on it now and its still going strong.

if its priced accordingly, take it. ask for maintenence records. water, tranny fluid, and diff fluid should all have been changed at 100k. diff fluid a few times. if it was maintained, its a good truck.

that i know of, there are no high-mileage issues with the 1gr. spark-plugs are standard-type and should be changed, i think 30-40k mile intervals are good. cams are chain driven but without the problems i learned about with my old 22re pickup. valves are purely mechanically driven so toyota does list a clearance spec, but i/ve never heard of anyone having to check or adjust.

drive it and listen for wheel bearings. also look for axle-seal leakage in the rear, front diff leakage at the axles, and c/v axle rips/tears/leakage

Is it in stock form (i.e., not lifted/leveled)? Can you test drive it? If so, listen/feel for any vibes/sounds that may be coming from anywhere, including driveline vibes, wheel bearing noise, creaks and rattles that may indicate off-road use.

And as others have said, inspect the maintenance records closely, see how complete they are, if there are any time/mileage gaps in regular maintenance, etc., check carfax, etc.

Only came here cause it said high mileage. Then I saw 114,000. If it looks good, checks out mechanically and suits your needs I say go for it.

114K  My 2000 has 187K never had an issue. Just do routine maintenance plugs, pcv valve, fuel filter, timing belt, oil, 02 sensors etc... The yota can't be stopped!!!
