Purchased my Taco new in 2016, have always taken it to the Dealership for service. I asked my Service Advisor numerous times when the transmission fluid needed to be changed and every time was told, “at 100,000 miles”. Now it’s about to turn 100,000 and I have an appointment to have the transmission serviced and I’m reading that it should have been done every 30-60,000 miles, that doing so “late” can actually CAUSE transmission problems.

I can’t change the fact that I was given bad advice, but what would you guys recommend I do? Flush and change filters or simply drain and replace? It’s my own fault for not reading the damn service manual and trusting the Dealership.
In my defense I am a 70 year old woman who knows nothing about the mechanics of her vehicle.

If you drive manual, most manufacturers will recommend changing your transmission fluid every 30,000 to 60,000 miles. If you have automatic, you can typically boost that range up to 60,000 to 100,000 miles. There's no harm in changing your fluid early.

early if you tow or carry heavy loads.

    Manual or automatic transmission?

Either way, you're fine. Better at 100k than never.

    Drain and fill.

Not to sound like a chauvinistic age-ist... I'm impressed you drive a manual.:burnrubber:

With a Manual, 30-60K Miles is right, it's gear oil, and not transmission fluid, but either way, you should be fine. Manuals tend to last a lot longer and are much easier to rebuild.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Change the rear diff oil, too and you’re good

Did you inform the service advisor you had a manual transmission? I guarantee he assumed you had an auto if you didnt. Yet, he still was not fully accurate in his/her info. Toyota/Lexus recommends a flush every 60K if your driving meets Special Operating Conditions - towing, off-roading, commercial-use, etc …. I dont know the frequency difference for MT.
