My power window switches started to fail on my 2000 Tacoma. I could lower the windows but not put them up reliably. I took them apart, cleaned the contacts, and that worked for a bit, but in the end I bought some new aftermarket switches (https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07L6JY943/ref=cfb_at_prodpg AND https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B001MOZ2E2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1).

I just replaced them and now the windows work great - hooray! But the power locks do not. The driver's side switch will unlock the doors, but when I hit the lock button they lock, then immediately unlock. The passenger side lock switch (which is still the original - and worked fine before) does nothing. I can only think that something in the wiring of the new switch assemblies is wonky, but I'm not sure how to address it. It's not the worst thing - now the windows work great, which was the original problem, but if anyone has any thoughts on how to get the power locks back, that would be cool.

    Thank you!

Ha ha, joke's on me. It appears that my power window switches are smarter than I am and will not let me lock the truck when the keys are in the ignition. As soon as I pulled them out, the locks worked just fine. So, thanks anyway. I'll try to make my future posts less idiotic.
