So yesterday it started up all day. Did a bunch of wheeling that day. Drove home for 3 hours afterwards Come out to the truck to go to work in the morning and it won't start.
It does one click and I smashed the starter with a hammer no luck.

Click no crank sounds like battery has gone flat. Put the jumper cables on it yet?

Batteries can die instantly, no warning.

You wheel with no jumpers? Dont have a jump pack or trickle charger? How about a DVM to quick test the battery?

I carry cables when I wheel. Just no jump pack.

Get the battery checked. Autozone or Advanced Auto here in the states will do it for free. I see you are in British Columbia - so not sure what is available to you.

There's mud like on it and what not. I did go through s water hole 2 days ago but drove home the day after and it was all good till I got home and let it sit over night. I did a 6 hour trail yesterday starting the truck like 10 or so times then drove 3 more hours on the highway to get home.

Well, your engine may have been warm the entire day so it was fine starting. When it sits overnight it cools and who knows where the water may have seeped in ( electrical connections)

Hopefully it’s just the battery and it’s simple

I wonder if your alternator is packed with mud or something and it didn't recharge the battery effectively. Just a guess if the battery is fine (but dead).

Have you tried lights, radio or other stuff that can see if battery has any juice.

Oh, then I would rethink my battery being the issue. It still maybe a weak battery, but that is probably just a symptom of the issue. Sounds like starter not getting juice, or has said no starter action from me anymore, maybe due to water.

Take a multimeter and check your battery charge. If ok the check your battery connections and starter connections. When your buddy jumps you if it starts then it’s probably not your starter. At that point I’d suspect battery, alternator, or dirty, loose, corroded connections.

I don't think its water. I only went through water once it the truck was off for for a good 20ish hours after that and started with nice problems

Water corrosion takes time? As it dried, maybe shit started? I do agree with the above post, check those connections
