Help.. truck won't turn on

    Hey y'all.
    My husband has a 96' tacoma and when we drive the truck and shut it off, she doesn't start back up. We usually have to wait 10 minutes and then she will turn over and be fine. If we are on a hill she will immediately jump start due to it being a manual. Anyone have any ideas on to what could be the issue?

    We also noticed last time we took her out in the mountains that she was blowing hot air?/pressure from the gas lid and we could smell fuel. No indication of the truck overheating, just after running for a while there was noticeable hot air blowing out.
