I'm in the process of doing the always 400 watt inverter mod. I started the truck before I began. I cut the two wires(violet w/ white and violet). Grounded the violet. I tried to start the truck and no starter. Everything else works. I reconnected the wires to themselves. Still no start. I'm clueless.

When I reconnected the wires I'm able to get the 400 watt mode on the inverter. So it's wired correctly.

I have read this post a few times to understand the wiring because this is a mod that I will be doing. It seems to me that the purple wire that you cut needs to be plugged and taped because it feeds the starter. The other end of the cut purple wire, (still attached to the inverter wire plug) is the one that needs to be extended and grounded. The OP in the thread used a white wire to do this.
On page 4 it describes this problem and where to find the starter fuse that you may have blown. I hope this helps.

You may also inadvertently blown this fuse if the wiring is correct.
