Hello all and thanks for the add! My neighbor and Buddy just got a sweet new 2019 4Runner, so I was lucky enough to pick up his 2005 SR5 Pre Runner Access Cab . It is in excellent condition w/ just 82K original miles and he has been the sole owner (we both work in Law Enforcment and have take home vehicles). Due to the older year model...no bluetooth aux input etc., I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good double din unit? I'm also juggling Apple Car Play or just Bluetooth. This is a second vehicle so it just would be an afternnon and weekend warrior. Thanks in advance for any help anyone could provide!

I have the Sony XAV-AX5000. Its really nice looking and sleek, works well enough but has some glitches when using Android Auto. Not sure if the same issues exist with Apple Carplay. If you're going to get a double din unit, might as well get Android Auto/ Apple Carplay, it's definitely nice to have. Kenwood and Pioneer make some good units. I can't recommend the XAV-AX5000 that I have, but I hear that the XAV-AX100 is better.

EDIT: Check out the brief write-up that I did on my setup. One thing I will recommend is the Scosche dash kit over the Metra.
