One more thing, a real service to the TacomaWorld Brotherhood, along with the obvious (pictures) would be to keep a:

    - list of everything you buy (bill of materials)
    - a list of everyone you buy something from (supplier list)
    - a list of what everything costs (cost history)
    - a list of issues that did not work as you had originally planned (risks)
    - a list of issues that worked out exactly, or better than, planned (assumptions)

Good luck and keep in mind, if you're not having fun you're not doing it right!

It's not going to be cheap but what is?

I'm thinking he is looking at $700 to $1200 in leather and $500 in installation for the basic conversion. So it's basically $1500 to $1700 to replace cloth seats to leather.

I'd thinking there would be a few smaller things that would be a negotiation (either a throw-in or a small added cost) because the installer owes him a favor or really wants his business.

There are a few larger items I've looked at like heated seats and changing some of the OE grey parts to black that easily add another $500 to $700 to the overall cost (but keep in mind I'm nucking futs).

Great project, looking forward to seeing how it works out.

I don't think it will be as expensive as you think. I did Katzkins with front seats heated for under $1000 CDN money! His will be more than that though because of the perforated leather and the embroidery. $500 for labour? That's almost $100 an hour. I installed mine myself with no experience in 6-7 hours.
Only special tool you need is a hog ring pliers and hog rings. And I included the price of that in the $1000.

    Edited for lost quote.

Getting it done cheaper would be great! Unfortunately $100 per hour is what they get here in the Baltimore/Washington area. I'm actually looking at how far I need to take the truck in order to have the job done well cheaper. Like taking it to Pennsylvania, North Carolina, etc. I've thought about doing it myself. I know it's not rocket science. It's just a matter of having a weekend without other honey do's...

Benca1 has a new leather guy working at the dealership that will do these conversions. This is yet another thing on my to do list. Oh, option #2 as well.

I'm really DROOLING over this and I can't wait for it to arrive. I made mine almost like the Toyota TRD Hilux Leather Editions. However, I have a few extras I did to personalize the interior even more. . .

I'll post it all once I receive it and once I install them.
