Help wanted signs! Three businesses in Quincy, Plumas Co.

SPI, Subway, Hunt Oil. Subway and Hunt Oil have signs in a window or sidewalk A frame set out. SPI has a sign out of town, advertises on the radio, plus on the customer grocery divider sticks at Safeway that you stick between your stuff an another person.

Small town, hard to find help, harder to get people to work. Looking to relocate? Bulk fuel, propane companies always looking for drivers. Add Rite Aid to the list with a sign in the window.

The area I live in has a lot of help wanted signage up also. Local radio station was saying there is a shortage of school bus drivers in the state because of the good economy. I will end it there don’t wanna get political.

 

Should add, a number of empty buildings, no mary-ju-wana businesses yet, county has a moritorium at least on growing for now. Four prime corner locations, one bought up I heard for speculation, one other an old gas station with concerns maybe over harardous fuel leaks. Three are across from each other on three corners. Not a prosperous picture.

Same here, one auto parts store has a big lot, on the fence at one end has been a banner advertising shcool bus drivers needed. That job requires the right people, they work short, split shifts, private business cant get away with paying people to do that. Watching the news last night, grape harvest is on, areas competing for that labor force, paying people to commute four hours a day. Thats hard, hot work. Our family used seasonal labor for peaches, grapes, pruning back in the 60's. The foreman had a nicer house than we had. I'd be out there checking peaches for size, defects.

Help wanted signs usually mean a business or person is looking for help.
I'm retired, see info and avatar to the left.
Divider sticks (my name) are those things placed between each customers groceries when more than one persons goods are placed on the conveyor at checkout, at least that is what we have here at Safeway.

Many businesses in Quincy, CA (located within Plumas County) are displaying help wanted signs. There is also some advertising of the need for help on the radio and on those sticks that separate one customers stuff from another's on the checkout conveyor.
