I am doing some calling around for a lift for my husband truck. :) He put his new relentless bumper on, and now we are looking into a lift. I know he was looking into the 3 inch lift a while ago, and then I thought maybe he could go a little bigger ;) I am trying to surprise him (again) and need your help! :)

The reason I am here, is I know there is a ton of threads on here about lifts and such... but I really need it broken down in the easiest of words. I have no idea what half of those threads were saying. :) I really want to find a good deal, but don't exactly know what to ask.

I know he said he wants a suspension lift, with coils, and UCA's. No blocks in rear or something. (I am trying to remember all of what he said because we talked about this a while ago). I called a place this morning and he said he will do some checking around, but the suspension lift he said he could get was a 3" and had spacers. I let him know that my husband said no spacers. He then said "well that might be a problem, I think that is all they have for 2010 tacoma's right now". He also said he didn't think it went any higher than a 3 inch lift. So I want to get more info, on brands and such... and know exactly what to tell these guys I want. :)

Thank you so much in advanced and I will apologize for being so clueless :)

I am thinking no more than 3000.00? Is that a good price range?

$3000.00 . If I give you my wife's number, can you call her and tell her to buy me something for my truck for our anniversary coming up. j/k That's a pretty good budget for a 3" lift. All you're wanting is the lift? No wheels? No bigger tires?

Holy Shit! You are a great wife. Look at toytec lifts.com or wheelers off road. Several kits include a 3" OME setup with 886 coils, or toytec ultimate lift. You could also do a RCD 4" lift-probably the best for looks and quality. Or you could a 6" lift from Pro Comp. I would opt for the RCD, personally. Just my .02

Make sure you get Dakar leafs for the back!!!! They are the best! they will lift the back perfect for a 3 inch lift in the front and the ride quality is better than stock. Man I wish my girl would buy me a lift. All she got me was 4 lights and a light bar. :( :)

We painted his stock rims, and we got like 31 or 32 inch tires.. do we need anything bigger than that?

Hey, if we can stay below the 3000.00, that would be great! lol

Also, we can go a bit bigger in the lift too, I know I saw someone post about a 4.5" lift that was nice.

Toyofreak- is RCD a company, or just the name of the lift? :( Sorry, I told you I was clueless! :)

is he planning to offroad? if so try to steer clear of drop bracket lifts (RCD) it is a company. and it is a 4.5" lift.

plus I feel you pay for more than you are getting with them.

First off your husband is a very lucky man. Second go to toytec's site and order thier old man emu lift with 886 coils if he wheels at all get thier leaf spring pack (i forget what its called) with some uniball upper control arms most run total chaos. If doesn't wheel just get some light raceing UCAs with a add aleaf. I got this lift except with 885 coils, tsb aal, and LR UCAs.

You can get spidertrax wheel spacers and run 285s. They are $100 for 2, so $200 total. As far as the lift, several members will reccomend RCD over the 3" lift. This lift will ride better and keep the angles low.

I would go with the RCD or even do some camburg spindles with all pro or dakar leaf pack, and leaf flip kit some shims and your good to go with a very healthy lift. If he has a heavy bumper those lifts will do well as far as sagging and settling.

Thank you all for the compliments! :) I am a very lucky woman to have him! :)

I will never allow him to take his truck on a true off road course! lol (Please don't take back all the nice things you said! lol) I just would rather him get a pile of junk to do that in, rather than this nice tacoma.

Toyota_truck- I remember him saying something about emu being good! :) Thank you for that reminder!
