So, I have one of these rubber bumpers that's attached to the underside of my hood that's gone missing. When I took the truck to my local Toyota dealer, they couldn't find the part number to order it for me. Anyone know what it is?

It's the cone shaped rubber bumper just outside of the latch. See photos below.

Thank you for your help but, I don't believe that's what I'm looking for. The rubber bumper that you posted is on either far end(left & right) of the inside hood. They actually push in a bit as well.

The ones I'm trying to replace are closer to the latch. One goes on the inside of both of the finger length indentations on the underside of the hood.

sorry couldn't be of more help! Perhaps since you cant figure out the part number, a better place to look might be in a junkyard?

Yeah, maybe. I'll see what I can come up with. Thanks for your input. Next time you pop your hood, have a look and see if you have two of those cone shaped ones(one on either side of the latch). I'm curious if I'm after something that the previous owner just slapped on or an actual Toyota part.

No problem and will do next time im near the taco!

Edited to add: i recently swapped my hood out with a scooped one and i moved hardware from one to the other. I dont remember seeing those near the latch but i could be wrong. Ill double check later today

I just looked at a diagram and I also think it's item 3. It was called a hood cushion. Item 2 was called a hood bumper. A bumper to protect against hood/fender mis alignment. A cushion to soften the blow of the hood dropping to lock it.

I dunno, makes sense to me... Ask the dealer to get one of each. Buy the one you want.

And that's probably why I can't order it through Toyota! Thank you for doing that, very helpful.
