Help with 3.4L Spark Plug Gap

    I emailed them about the gap being .022 on each side. Here's the response...

    Thank you for your E-mail. The BKR5EKB-11 is gapped at 1.1mm or 0.044”. You cannot check the gap due to it is circular. If you use a feeler gauge it will not show the actual gap. This is the actual OE replacement spark plug for your vehicle and is pre-gapped and ready for installation.

    How will using a feeler gauge not show the actual gap??? Especially the one I pictured second?

    i used to work at advanced auto parts. plugs are almost never right at spec, theyre usually close but i would always recommend that people gap them to make sure.
    if the gap is small, you might not burn all the air fuel mix in the cylinder causing increased emissions and if severe possibly worse gas milage.
    if the gap is too big the plug will heat up causing a hot spot and could possibly cause detonation or pre ignition which could also cause detonation.
