How’s it going guys, just a disclaimer I am no where near a mechanic of any shape or form so please excuse my lack of proper terminology here. I need some insight on a problem I’ve been having with my Bilsteins on a 2017 Tacoma. I’ve had them on for about a year now with Toytec coils and have had an issue with some squeaking off and on, recently it’s gotten really bad so I decided to take a look at it. I found that the shaft that comes out of the shock itself rubs on the coil bucket and it has a slight angle which causes the squeaking noise. Any help on what would cause this and any fixes would be much appreciated thanks. Attached photos of what I think is rubbing.

Definately a serious problem here. Parts broken, threads stripped, nut missing. The squeek is just the easy part.

The fix is far more elaborate.

With the threads stripped at the top, you'll have to replace the strut most likely.

Watch this to see how the struts go together and you'll see that the washer aligns it, but then it must be properly tightened so that it doesn't shift and move to the side.

This applies to all Toyota IFS struts.
