Help with color match grill

I have tried to paint my grill 209 black sand pearl 3x! It's coming out smooth and black but it looks like a flat black. I have tried two different paints and two different clear coats. What am I doing wrong?

Also tried polishing and wax, helped it look nice an clean but still too flat.


I will try to post picture tomorrow, but the paint looks like a spray paint job, will not come out shiny like a car paint job (if that makes any sense).

Try a coat of adhesion promoter and rustoleum gloss protective black enamel.
