Looking to get LED headlights for my taco, can't seem to pick which ones to get. If someone could help me out with choosing some that would be great! Thankyou

The only thing that im wondering is should I replace all 3 with LEDs(low beam, high beam and fog light) or would I be fine just doing low beams and foglights with LEDs

I did the piaa extreme white plus halogen bulb upgrade. There noticeable brighter. From my research it’s better to stay with halogen bulbs in a halogen designed projectors and reflectors.

The consensus on this forum is that this mod isn't acceptable. So you would probably do better by researching good quality LED's and figuring out what you like.

I used to run my foglights with my low beams because I felt I wouldn't see well at night. Then I put in Hikari Ultra LEDs, the eyes of megatron ones, in my low beams and have been happy running just those. I also switched out the fogs for amber morimotos, but haven't done anything to the high beams yet.

it’s acceptable if it’s what you want to do., just know it’s done for looks and not performance

3 years ago I did a lot of research on which LED's to buy. Ended up going with a cheaper set in my low's/high's and have been more than happy. You can barely hear the fan but they definitely outshine the old lights and nobody flashes me with their brights. Even through some yellow ones in the fogs and those work fantastic.

I side with the argument that the beam pattern is altered due to the focal point of the LED lamps not being correctly located in the housing. I don't believe that this creates a danger to oncoming traffic. But I personally believe that the results are glaring to approaching traffic.

I would match the low beams and fogs but that's just me. Changing the high beams depends on how often you actually use them. I never use my high beams so I would leave them as is and save some cash.

Without question @crashnburn80 ‘s write up is spot on and it made a lot of sense after I read it. Unfortunately for me, I read it only after these were in the mail and on the way.

AUXITO H11 H8 H9 LED Headlight Bulb Fanless All-in-one Conversion Kit 9000 Lumens High Low Beam Headlights Fog Lights 6500K Xenon White, Pack of 2 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DGVQBVP/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_DWIiEbRYJ6DJQ

Needless to say. They’re installed, look better than stock yellow and I can still see fine at night. (Maybe my expectation threshold is low, but they seem just as effective as the halogens. Just white. Reflector cut off is still present and visible. No one is flashing me from being blinded. Range is acceptable) I replaced lows beams and fogs. I haven’t had any flickering or or errors. So for me they’re fine for now.

Are these LEDS optimized to work with halogen reflectors? Based on what I’ve learned, I would say, no. If that’s important to you, then drop a grand on morimoto xb’s or 2020 oem led headlights.

I keep the original halogens in the car just in case these cheapies crap out.
    Hope it helps. Good luck.

I have these for highs and lows. The projector for the lows still makes a nice, crisp cutoff line. I've had these in my taco and bmw for about a year and a half now with great results.

This topic has been asked and answered a lot.

    This is just my recommendation.

    HID's in the lows.
    LEDs in the highs
LEDs or OEM in the fogs. If you plan on running LED in fogs, make sure they are road legal if you plan to use them, you know, on the road lol. If i'm not mistaken, LEDs in the fogs will throw light up.

The HIDs in the lows shoot WAY farther than LEDs, that was my main issue.

    Huge if true.

I put LEDs in my V-strom motorcycle and it made a big difference.

About 6 months back I read all of the posts on this forum on this subject. I read the technical reports showing the beams and brightness in lumens, the distance and spread of of the beams, all the graphs and charts and opinions and arguments on all the different lights. Some 60- 70 pages of back and forth opinions. The be very honest. It was too f****ng much!!!! It did nothing but confuse me. In my last 2nd gen truck I had HID's and loved them for the light, but had problems constantly replacing the ballasts. I changed them out for LED and found them to be less brighter than the HID but not bad. So I just decided to invest in LED's on both the high and low beams on my 3rd Gen and I can tell you they are a 100% improvement to what came with the truck. Thats my opinion and nothing more.

If you overthink it and follow the bouncing ball on here you will get lost and confused. Everybody wants you to do what they did. I went to my local truck store and spoke with them and went with the LED brand they recommended which came with a 5 year replacement guarantee. I figured even if they were shit, the shop is backing them up. I installed them myself and they are great and I have no regrets. Could I find better lights, perhaps, but I don't care because I'm very happy with these.

I've did all of them. Went with headlightrevolution.com I put HID in the low beams at first and got better results with LED. With that said this sight test various manufacturers against each other and use a 3rd gen housing for one of their test.
    It's worth a look.
