When installing the new bumper do you guys use the original crush cans from the stock bumper? I'm slightly confused because the Tacoma the bumper came off of had a welded steel box frame extension. This is the first time I have seen it, is that mandatory?

PS my encaps are modified with 1/4 plate for reinforcement but should I have extended the frame then made end cap on it, or can I simply use a long grade 8 bolt to connect the bumper to the end cap?

Pics of how it's installed on the truck right now ( I know it's not correct but I needed a bumper on the truck till I figured out how to properly install it )

The welded end cap is common because the factory end cap is weak, from what I've read. Really only seems to be an issue if you plan on winching a lot.

Depends if you plan to use the bumper or if it just protects from Run Away Shopping Carts.

Then it is your Truck as long as the bumper does not fall off your good

No I want it to be safe and secure for winching. Anyone know if I can buy that piece separately?

Contact ARB-USA. For being a mainstream large company that they are they have excellent customer service.

I was missing some of the brackets for the solenoid and license plate and no-questions-asked, they sent me all I asked for.

Just find the part number for the bumper before inquiring.

I had to buy the entire fit kit from ARB for my 04. Cost a pretty penny and they made it seem like I was very lucky to get my hands on one. I used some square stock for a bit in-between the crush cans and bumper but that was with no winch. The fit kit number is different now from what is mentioned in the PDF from ARB. Part# 6171370S has been superseded to 6173276S. Think it would be the same for your truck.

I ordered through 4WP, as it was cheaper with them then directly through ARB. $485 Canadian.

Yup! But I got the bumper for 100$ so it still made sense for me personally. ARB is so expensive but the bumper makes the truck look sick imo.

Ya for me it was more of a convenience factor then anything, but if you do end up fabbing something up, post up some pics. Would love to see what you come up with.

So from what I can tell from the PDF is I need the chassis extension right?

Yeah, at that price, I'd just head to a fab shop and have then start throwing sparks.

So I made some calls and the chassis extension is PN 3756405S and runs about $30 a piece. I think I'm going to go this route

When I called they told me they didn't sell individual parts... Maybe Canada is different.

ARB USA confirmed they had some in stock but could not order them, so I have to contact a dealer and go through them
