    Hello all,

Really heartbroken about my 2014 Access Cab Prerunner SR5 Tacoma being totaled by the insurance company after being rear ended (Bent the Frame). Right now they only want to give me $22,000.00 as a settlement. Looking through the paperwork, they are comparing it to an Extended Cab truck with an SR package. When I told them it was an SR5 they redid the offer a little bit. But what they are doing is giving me an extra $1,700.00 for the SR5 package but then subtracting $950.00 from an SR package. It is still saying Extended Cab. I would like to fight this so my question would be, what is the difference between the SR and SR5 package and the difference between Extended Cab and Access Cab. I really feel like I am being ripped of and would appreciate any help or advice. Thank You.

Im not sure about the SR vs the SR5 but I do know that access cab and extended cab is the same thing. "Access Cab" is just what Toyota calls their extended cab.

I’d try to find similar trucks for sale with around the same mileage. Use those numbers to prove to them that you can’t replace your truck for what they are offering.

Also I don’t know where you’re located, but in my area I bought my 2012 double cab sport two years ago with 58k miles for what they are offering you. So in my opinion you are getting a good payout.

I guessed on mileage (40k), and also assumed you have the V6. Also the SR5 is a package that can be added, so they are correct to add that to the price of the base. It sounds like you’re upside down on the loan and trying to get more than the truck is worth. Now I know that location can change pricing, so post up location and mileage, along with more specs and we can see what it’s worth.620ACA6F-C0A1-402E-9BE7-29778D18C149.jpg

My Bad, Mileage was 57000, and it is the 4 cylinder. Not upside down (payed off). I have been looking for comparable vehicles (same year, mileage and options) with same mileage in my area (Los Angeles), and it is around $25.000. Not looking to take advantage, just treated fairly. One of my issues is that they are not adding the SR5 correctly to the base value, they are now adding the SR5 package to the base value then subtracting the value of the SR package (making the SR5 package around $700.00). Extended Cab and Access Cab is the same as stated above so I will accept that.

Like I said before send the info of the other trucks for sale with the same options. If you can prove your truck is worth more than they should pay up. And damn I need to sell my truck in LA, I could make money on it haha.
