I wanted to replace the #194 bulbs that illuminate the license plate with LED's but the sockets won't hold them in securely enough. Any little bump and they flicker.
I used crc electronic cleaner to clean out the gunk, but I'm sure they are worn after this many years.
Ordered two oem sockets from Amazon today (approximately $10 a piece). Hoping the new ones will have a tighter contact.
What is the trick to removing the socket????? Do you press the one tab on top and pull apart?

You press that little tab on the white one and pull.

The copper contact inside the bulb holder can usually be bent out with a small screwdriver to tighten up fit. Look on the bulb to see where the against needs to be adjusted.
