Ok my question is, I plan on buying a 2014 double cab tacoma 4.0 v6 and get it factory lifted? If I go through with that factory lift is the trd off road package pointless? I just want to make sure it's lifted correctly an without problems. I want it done where there won't be any future problems as well! Any help is appricated!!!

    First off welcome to TW.

I am not to sure about down there but up here the factory lifts were not that great but I guess it depends on how you want to use your truck.

I wanted something that could take me into the back country (not to extreme) and I went with the Old Man Emu lift. Something a lot of members have and I have been really happy with it.

I would do a lot of research before you get a lift and honestly you won't find a better place than on here. I read on here for about 5 months before I pulled the trigger and thanks to the advice of the good people on here I am happy with my pick.

Not the complete answer you were probably looking for but I hope that kind of helps. Just read read and then read some more:D

Maybe let us know what you plan on using your truck for and your budget. Good luck and I look forward to the build.

I don't have a budget limit I just want it done correctly! An where it won't cause future problems on other parts like bushings an bearings an axels an rearend an so forth! I liked the idea of getting it from the dealer that way cuz it's all financed an covered under warrenty. I won't really be off roading at all. Just regular trips to the deer lease for hunting it won't ever be anything extreme at all. Main thing is I want it to look good an be done right where there will not be future problems caused by my lift. Thanks for your advise.

I would suggest reading up on lifts and going aftermarket like ICON or OME, and wait until your 36,000 mile warranty is up until you install. The lifts I mentioned are better than the factory ones, but won't be covered under warranty if you have any driveline issues most likely.

Some dealers will install aftermarket lift kits, but getting them to follow through with any kind of tsb or recall due to driveline issues will be a hassle because of your lift, so just wait it out.

the dealer usually installs crap lift packages like spacers or drop brackets. IMO don't even deal with them they're only out to rob you.

it seems like you're not familiar with lift kits so I'd recommend you hang around the forum and read a lot....a lot of threads in the suspension section. you'll be more content with your final decision

Depends in how much lift you want. Greater than 2.5" I would just put on aftermarket UCA's like Light racing, total chaos, or ICON, and that will allow for greater adjustability for your alignment and get within factory spec. Lower than 2.5" you should have no problems with alignment.

33s are fine with stock gears...35s and you are gonna need to re gear. I run 33s and barely notice a difference in throttle response. I do drive like a grandpa though

You can run 33s with modifications to the pinch weld and fender plastic trim, above that you need larger gearing.

OP, how much lift and what's the application so we can help you more?

And if you don't have a budget limit I would go all out and get the best stuff out there for your intended purpose in having the truck. It sounds like you want something like 35s and a drop bracket lift. Look up drop bracket lift kits (RCD, Fabtech, Pro Comp, etc.)

I wouldn't go drop bracket but I guess if you're not off roading it wouldn't matter much. you can't go back tho.

    I'd recommend a 3" suspension lift + 1"body lift.

in any case you'll have to do some trimming and while I personally wouldn't hesitate to grab my tools and start hacking, I'm sure a brand new owner to a brand new truck would think twice.
