We currently have 265/70R17 Goodyear Wranglers on some off-brand, plasti-dipped trashed wheels the previous owner had. My best guess is the wheels are zero offset. I’m currently considering getting American Racing’s Baja wheel and treading them with BFG KO2. Question is, would anyone recommend the -12mm offset? I’d like the wheels to come out a bit but I’m worried about rubbing. We modified the wheel wells to stop the rubbing in sharp turns with the existing wheel/tire combo. Does anyone have experience with the negative offset wheels? We tried a 1” spacer way back and it damn near took the front bumper off from rubbing while backing out of the driveway. Truck is a 2005 Prerunner

I like my TRD Pro wheels from the 4runner because they have a +4 offset. No rubbing with 265/70/17 and they stick out no more than 1/2 past the fender flare. I would stay towards 0 offset if possible. Like you have experienced, more negative offset will only worsen your rubbing.

Thanks. Someone local is selling some used TRD wheels with K02 on them and I’m considering that as well.

I know some people think the TRD Pro wheels on a truck that isn't a pro is stupid but I bought them because I've always liked the look, they are pretty light, and you get OEM quality on both structure and finish.

Edit: it looks like the 6-139.7 is the one. Many are doing a -12mm offset. I really wish I knew how they fit my truck with the K02’s.

    - ICON UCAs, BP51/Kings, SCS wheels, 285s, Leer 100XR canopy. Greenlane aluminum winch bumper, Smittybilt X20 winch. Trying Falken AT3w now, Really like BF KO2s.
The tires won’t be the problem, I ran -10 SCS Ray 10s with that size tire, no real issue. If it rubs somewhere get out your trimmer, it will be minimal. Also a good wheel alignment will minimize rubbing.
If you still have that little plastic flap in front of your wheels in the wheel well get rid of it.

yeah we had some rubbing with the existing wheels so I had to trim a small amount and now it doesn’t rub anywhere under any condition. I think the wheels are a zero offset though. When we added a 1” spacer(pre-trimming), it caught the bumper really bad in sharp turns backing up. That’s why a -12mm offset concerns me. What lift do you have? We’re at a 2” lift.

I now have a 2 inch lift approx with the SCS ray 10s -10 and 285 70 17 for tires. I did run my 285s on the street with minimal issues until I did the CMC. A good wheel alignment really helps for minimizing trimming.

So I got the American Racing Baja with the -12 offset and the 265/70R17 BFG KO2’s. Couldn’t be happier. No rubbing and the tires are much quieter than the Goodyear Wranglers. Wheel specs 17X9, 6-139.7 lug
