    Hi everyone,

I am seeking some guidance about how to improve some bad rubbing on my Tacoma 2017 TRD Off Road. I have a current lift of Bilsteins 5100 with OME 887. I recently had to change my tires from 265/75/16 KO2 to Falken Wildpeaks AT4 265/75/16. The wheels I currently have a -6mm offset, 8 inch wide.

With my prior tires I didn’t have much rubbing at full turn or close to nine but with the Falkens it’s way worse.

Would going to a wheel that had a positive offset of +10 mm offset help the rubbing?

    Any advice be really appreciated.

Best to clarify where the source of your rubbing is. That wheel offset isn't doing you any favors but it should be manageable. Also from my testing bfg's run small compared to other brands so that could account for the change your seeing.

Oh the KO2 being smaller would definitely explain some things. The rubbing is happening at the plastic flap where the fender would go. The fender I removed long ago to help with rubbing on KO2. The tire does get super close to the metal that’s right next to the fender closer to the body.

so sounds like getting new wheels with a positive offset should certainly help. I just hope going from -6 to +10 will be enough, thoughts?

You removed the fender? Do you mean the mud flap?

Did you have an alignment done with these new tires and did you change your upper control arm when the lift was done?

My computer finally worked to upload photo. See picture for where it rubs against the plastic and then close to the metal piece.

Post alignment print out. Bet a proper alignment can resolve it.

This^ i had more clearance with high positive uca's and 285s. That is way to tight

Also include a picture of the ball joints orientation on the spc. Iv heard some shops really struggle to install them correctly.

I would bet getting that offset to like +5 will solve your rub. That little poke might be what's causing it on top of a possible bad alignment because those really shouldn't be rubbing otherwise considering they're 32's

Do they know how to set SPC’s up and adjust them? Doesn’t seem that way

Working on getting this. Apparently when dealership did the alignment, they didn't generate a report so I am taking it back in this afternoon to get it. I will post it.

I don't think they do. I am very shocked that I am getting this level of rub with even turning into a parking spot when I didn't with my KO2's on the exact same setup.

I think so too. The new wheels I am looking at is +10 offset from my current of -6. The wheel width is still 8inches. I think either way to avoid this whole rubbing issue all together is just to pull the trigger on new set of wheels. If +10 offset doesn't fix it then I'll be damn because its hard finding a 16 inch wheel with even more positive offset in Bronze.
