Doing a refresh on my front end with new LCA, UCA, brakes, and sway bar links. Driver side went pretty smooth but the lower shock bolt on the passenger side is stuck. I was able to get the nut off but the bolt just spins inside of the shock bushing. Any ideas? Sprayed it several times with blaster, beat it with a hammer…….Im planning on keeping the 5100s I have on there right now, but how messed up is that bushing at this point?

Should pull out try relieving pressure on it and try to pull out.

Not happening. Rubber in the bushing looks cooked and when I hammered on it, the whole bushing sleeve started to push out the back end.

that bolt is holding up 75 lbs of material and bushings are also psushing the arm up. Loosen the cam bolts and put a jack under the arm. I like to pull the two lbg bolts so the arm swings down. Much more access to get strut out.

there is a metal sleeve inside that bushing and rust has probably fused the bolt to it.

or just pry on the shock eye as needed with a pry bar to take tension off the bolt and remove it

Can you cut the bolt between the flanges without damaging anything around it?

Not yet. IMG_6507.jpg IMG_6508.jpg got the shocks out, cut off the offending bolt, and will be dropping them off tomorrow to get the old bushings pressed out and new ones in.
