I have a MTX 1000XD amp (700rms@4ohms and 1000rms@2ohms). I am looking for 2 shallow 12" subwoofers (<5" depth) and have no preference on impedence or price. What do you guys recommend? I also like a good mix of SQ and SPL.

I am currently leaning towards the Polk Audio MM1240 or MTX TT6512. i looked at the MB Quart RLP304 but have not personally owned any of their products.

thanks for that. I had actually forgot about Diamond audio. I actually had a brainstorm and bought 3/4" spacers and mounted/sealed them onto my box and installed some POLK DB124 subs I had laying around my house. I wasn't crazy about trying shallow mount subs anyway (no experience with that type of sub) and am overall happy with my setup. with 1104watts RMS going to 2 12's in a sealed box is ridiculous in a DC. ( i figure overpowering them a bit won't hurt anything as it is installed in a small sealed box.

I have not heard good things about the pioneer. diamond in generally are really good. I just bought the punch p3 shallow. I use to own the P2 10's so I'm expecting decent things from this 12.

O but remember a lot comes from the box. Makes tons of difference sometimes.

I agree that the box makes a world of difference. However as much as I would like a MTX sledgehammer enclosure in my truck, I just don't see it happening.

I just wish I could extend the frequency response downward a bit, which I feel the thing limiting that is the box size (.77ft3 per side). there may be some polyfill is in my future.
