If its maintained it will be fine, at 229k she still might have a lot of life left. $3,400 isn't a lot for a good truck like that.

I did offer 2600. he said 3400 is the lowest he will go. if it had 180k miles or under i would buy it. I just can't justify spending that much on a truck that needs to be registered, is kind of beat, and has 226 k. I really like the regular cab 4x4 first gens though. They are pretty rare is social.

maybe I told him if he ever wants to get rid of it under 3,000 to let me know. I might get a 2 wheal drive with less miles and less beat up and get it lifted with bigger tires. I don't really need the 4x4 I just like more ground clearance because I surf up and down the California coast and some times you need some clearance to get to some spots.

pretty much haha. I am not an offroad enthusisast i just want to clear some roads around in Cali so I can surf some spots. I dont need anything fancy . I had a 99 regular cab 2 wheel drive that got an accident and Im looking to get a new truck. I got my 99 in great condition with 120 k miles for 3900.

I agree I think I will stick to offering 2600 in a week or so and see if he will take it. I know tacomas have a higher price because they are more prestigious than a ranger or s 10 just some people are just a little ridiculous when it comes to pricing. Its just funny to me that a guy wont take 2600 cash today for a tacoma with 226 k in that shape.

it has no AC..i know you may only want it for an offroad toy but in my experience I bought an old jeep that didn't have a few things running on it and I ended up blowing my budget once I got the restore bug in me.. I would say hold out for a Tacoma 4wd that is worth every penny of the asking price.. then you don't have to throw wrench time into it and can just move on from day one..
