Help with texts not being read

Do this:

29.If your iPhone message aren't showing up on your multimedia screen, go to Settings --> Bluetooth --> Toyota --> activate "Show Notifications"

mine will actually read images and its super annoying becuase it will say

Yep, already did that. Funny thing now is that I got several fine then out of nowhere it’s not working again. I just don’t get it.

 

Your radio may need an update. I know there are updates for these radios. And on the Tundra as well.

 

Well it’s back to working again, I signed into entune, not sure if that made any difference or not. The hands free calling both in and out works absolutely fine though.

 

I did an Entune update today, will have to see if it makes any difference.

 

I turn it on, and phantom text myself as a hot babe just to stir the hornets nest.

 

Bwaaaahahaha, love it.

Get an aftermarket radio.
Text will come in and read it aloud for you.
Ask you if you want to respond. You say yes and say your message. Head unit will repeat message and ask to send. Done.

Be finished with trying to read a message on a small center speedo screen and replace the head unit.
You get tire pressure diagrams, engine data (rpm, temp, all sorts of stuff), door open diagrams, dvd movies, gps (waze and google maps), pandora, apps etc.

 

Mine done it after an update. Had to go settings, Bluetooth and Toyota Tacoma and turn on Show Notifications and Sync Contacts, now my text come and read to me. Using I Phone

 

I had that issue back in the day and what it ended up causing the issue was having my quick contacts on my home screen. As soon as you remove contacts from being on your home screen this message readout worked again.

 

OP I noticed mine won't display or read the text if I have my Apple watch on and unlocked. Are you wearing an Apple watch or Samsung watch by change?

 

Nope, wearing my Submariner. I did sign into Entune, like having traffic alerts and weather. I’m not sure how much phone data it’s going to drain though, I have to keep an eye on that. I’m hoping that leaving that open will cause the texts to come up.

 

My truck started doing the same thing with the newest entune update. It will pick and choose what texts it wants to read now

 

Seems to be working now for me. I’ve been leaving entune run, I’m keeping an eye on my phone data.
