go with the goodyear duratracs. i had them on my old truck and plan on getting a set here shortly for my current one. they wheel awesome, are great in the rain, snow, mud, ice, and are as quiet if not quieter than most other a/t's or m/t's. i've got a buddy with a set on his 4 runner with about 40k miles on them and they still look about 50% of life left.

The A/T3s are going to be more aggressive off-road but the Pirellies will last longer, be quieter and more comfortable on the road. Also, Pirelli is generally better as far as brands go...

What charachteristics are you looking for in your next set of tires? What do you have now? What kind of driving do you typically do? How often do you off-road?

I try to go off road and play as much as I can and drive like a bat out of hell... I have a truck and drive it like so... I was told that Pirelli may not last and that the cooper have been known to last longer...I don’t haul very often but like to know I can when needed... at this point don’t really know what to get other than I came across a great price deal normally Pirellis are $225 per or higher from what I'm told and the other is in the short of $200 per.. but after tons of calls I have three place that will do the price match can’t beat one another because two of them sale both of these tire at over $900 a set and honestly the Pirelli's were quoted at over $1000...
as for what on my babe now... they're shit... Falkens high country second set couldn't get more than 9k out of them long story short Falkens never again on my tacoma maybe the f150..

    lol yeah. Those Falkens suck...

For those prices, I'd look at Michilen A/T2s. Better than either of those tires IMO and cheaper than the Pirrelis. Or even BFG All-Terrain KOs if you want something more aggressive...

But of the 2, I'd go with Pirelli over Cooper.

I'd go cooper. A lot of guys run them on plow trucks here, very popular, ive heard great things. The scorpions used to be cool years ago but they redesigned them and they're lamer now in my opinion. Doesn't mean they're worse but they didn't appeal to me anymore.

Between just those 2 tires, I'd go with the Pirelli. I had the AT3's and the ATR's before them and will be hard pressed to buy another Cooper tire. I really liked the ATR but the sidewalls started splitting so Cooper warrantied them and put me into a set of AT3s (very happy with Cooper's customer service, I was happy that they stood behind their product). The AT3's made the truck wander terribly, so much so that I sold the tires with less than 10k miles on them. Traction-wise, both sets of Cooper tires were awesome. Off road, I'd be willing to bet the Coopers will be better than the Pirellis but for an overall tire on a daily driver, I'd find another tire.

Everything above is my personal opinion. Lots of other members on here are running the AT3's and seem to really like them. I seem to be the minority that didn't like them.

I've had the coopers on my old Tahoe and my tacoma now and they have treated me great with both vehicles. The handle great off road as well as on. I have to get it to slide around if I want to. The wear on them is even and they sounds moderate on the road. Not too loud but they still have that off road tire hum. I haven't experienced the other tire but from my luck with cooper's they are treating me very well
