I purchased my 2015 double cab a few months ago, finally my dream TACO! However, I have noticed that I am getting a "rub" on the highway when I get a good cross wind. I bought it from the dealer already lifted with tire and wheel package. Took it back to dealer and they said it must be a door seal or something. I now can see that the UCA is being contacted by the tire not only when at full lock but also when the tires are strait. RC 3" lift kit, 275/60 r 20's (Fuel Beast, BFG KO2's). Any ideas on why I am getting the rub and what should I suggest to get it fixed?

Are you saying the tires only rub in cross winds? If your talking about cross wind noise, they all have it and there all kinds of threads on that issue. If your getting at the tires rubbing then you have got to lift it, or get smaller tires, unless someone knows of better idea

I get the noise. The tires are coming in contact with the UCA and causing the truck to pull. My big concern is eventually it could cause catastrophic failure to the tire.

If the dealer picked those wheels and those tires and that suspension and you're having issues with the wheel specs causing the tire to contact the UCA, why aren't they responsible to fix it?

They are and I plan to hold them accountable, but I want to make sure I know what I want when I ask them to fix the problem

Would a after market UCA fix the problem? Like the total chaos fab?

To my knowledge no, you'd get better alignment specs and have more clearance from the coils with new UCAs but the wheel offset still remains. You need more of a negative offset or just add wheel spacers for a cheap fix. But then you'd most likely rub the cab mount and bumper

I'd just make the dealer give you a new set of wheels with more of a negative offset to remedy the problem. They are the ones who installed it and never bothered to check clearance

Nice looking taco btw. I will see what they say, I am taking it in Thursday. Anyone know what offset I should be looking for if they agree to new wheels?

I believe @DCSBFTMFW knows that answer. I want to say 4.5. And thanks!

    Agree to new wheels?

It's a matter of safety and liability. They fucked up, your tire blowing out on the freeway isn't going to end well. They are at fault.

Dealer created the issue now they need to fix it free of charge. Go in there and give em hell till they give you new wheels and fix the problem

And don't care about anything else until it's fixed.

I don't know why you're even asking about aftermarket UCAs when that's irrelevant.

I wasn't sure if the aftermarket UCA's could fix the problem by creating more space for the tires.
