Newbie to towing and travel trailers. Searched the forums and didn't find the info that I needed.

I am towing with a 2009 DCLB Prerunner with air bags. My TT is a Flagstaff Epro 19FBS. Weighed on a truck scale and got these numbers: Truck only (with TT attached) 6050lbs. Combination truck/trailer 9360lbs. Trailer only (attached to TV) 3260. Truck by itself unattached 5360lbs. Truck and trailer loaded for camping, no water, two people in truck.

So, I get my tongue weight is about 690lbs (6050-5360), right? For the trailer weight do I have to add the tongue weight back onto the attached trailer weight (3260+690=3950)? How am I doing? The sticker on my door says front+rear axle weights equals about 5900lbs. Actual truck weight is 5350 (6050-690= 5360)? Still good?

Hope this makes sense. Can anyone confirm my reasoning/math? Thanks for your help.

If I am doing this correctly, your GCVWR is 9360. Your truck alone is 5360 curb weight loaded (presume including the hitch)
Your trailer would be 4000# (9360-5360). That essentially puts you within 10# of your calculation.
Now what concerns me is your tongue weight. At 690# that puts you at 17.25% (690/4000) which seems a bit high.
Are you using a weight distribution hitch? Ideally you want tongue weight to be 12-15% max. You may need to rearrange how things are stored in your TT to get your tongue weight a little lower. It's pushing it for your truck, but your GCWR is fine depending on your trucks sticker.

Those numbers are with a WDH. I also have 30lbs in my air bags to level everything out.

What is the GCVWR for your truck (I no longer own a 2nd Gen, have a 3rd Gen)? What is max tongue weight your truck is rated for?
Those should be the 2 numbers you should be concerned about. If your trailer is 4000# loaded, I don't think you are close to max towing.
    Shoot for 80% or less.
